St Peters College is a secondary school in the Gore district, Southland Region, New Zealand. A private co-ed school of 405 students, St Peter's college was founded in 1969, becoming the first Catholic co-educational boarding school in New Zealand. Former students include TV personality Mike Puru, Highlanders utility back Matt Saunders, and TV three news journalist Clifford Joiner.
The school has four "houses" which divide the students into groups for events such as athletics, swimming, cultural and community events. They are: McAuley (blue), Rosmini (yellow), Finlay (green) and Pompallier (red).
In 2004 and 2006 the school was the highest achieving in Southland, according to NCEA results.[1]
